Bradford Place has developed a new concept in Alzheimer’s Care. Our unique and innovative Alzheimer’s program is designed exclusively for those in our community suffering from dementia. This program is designed to provide an enhanced life experience beyond traditional Memory Care facilities. While traditional Memory Care programming is designed around group participation, this innovative program is designed with the individual in mind.
Our specially trained and certified staff will encourage residents to complete activities by themselves but are always standing by to help. Caregivers incorporate programs that build and help with the retention of skills and capabilities using repetition to promote engagement in these activities. Our Alzheimer’s program is designed to keep verbal instructions to a minimum, always using simple, clear, and pleasant language. We incorporate elements to increase appetite, decrease mood swings, and encourage independent socialization among residents.
Our programs are designed to relate to each resident. Their life experiences, their memories, their personalities — we take all of this into consideration when developing our individualized programming, which will create an eagerness to participate in the community and interact with other residents and staff. By customizing activities to individual abilities and interests, we can create a relaxed and stable environment. Modifying personal resident programming is essential. Our team will continuously assess each resident to see the strengths and interests the resident is developing and then adjust their personalized program accordingly.
